How AFFF handles your data
This page summarises how the Africa Film Finance Forum platform currently operates. The formal text is being finalised with the organisers and will replace this summary before the 2026 cycle opens. It is published now because registration asks you to accept these terms, and asking you to accept a page that does not exist would be worse. Who is responsible
The Africa Film Finance Forum, operated by Okhma Global, is the controller of the personal data described here. Write to project@africafilmfinanceforum.com about anything on this page.
What we collect
Account: your name, email address and the role you signed up as. Accreditation: your organisation, position, country, website, experience, investment interests and anything you write in the free-text fields. Projects: everything you enter into the submission wizard, including budgets and any documents you upload. Registration: attendee and billing details for each badge. Technical: sign-in times and the network address a session was opened from, kept so we can detect a stolen session.
Why we hold it
To operate your account and keep it secure; to put your accreditation or project in front of the review panel; to show accredited members the project detail the marketplace exists to show them; to issue badges and process payment; and to answer you when you write to us. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it to train anything.
Who else sees it
AFFF staff reviewing applications. Accredited members, for the project detail a producer has chosen to list — never a producer’s or investor’s contact details, which the platform deliberately keeps off-screen and behind its own messaging. Paystack processes payments and receives what a card transaction requires; we never hold card numbers. Resend delivers our email. Our servers are hosted with Contabo.
Documents you upload
Uploaded documents are stored on the platform’s own servers rather than a third-party object store, and are reachable only by you, the review panel, and members you have granted access to. They are not currently scanned for malware, which is why every uploaded file is marked as pending review rather than described as clean.
How long we keep it
Account and application data for as long as your account exists, and then for as long as we need it to settle payment, tax and audit obligations. Sessions expire on their own. Ask us to delete your account and we will, subject to those obligations, and will tell you what had to be kept and why.
Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act you may ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to a particular use. Write to project@africafilmfinanceforum.com and we will respond within thirty days. If you are in the EU or UK, the equivalent rights under the GDPR apply and we honour them on the same terms.
Cookies
We set one cookie, and only once you sign in: a session cookie that keeps you signed in. It is httpOnly, so no script on the page can read it. There is no advertising or cross-site tracking on this platform.
