The terms on which the Africa Film Finance Forum platform, marketplace and registration may be used.
Using the AFFF platform
This page summarises how the Africa Film Finance Forum platform currently operates. The formal text is being finalised with the organisers and will replace this summary before the 2026 cycle opens. It is published now because registration asks you to accept these terms, and asking you to accept a page that does not exist would be worse. 1. What this platform is
The Africa Film Finance Forum operates a marketplace that introduces film projects to accredited investors, and sells registration to its annual Forum. It is an introduction and access platform. It is not a broker, an investment adviser, or a party to any transaction that follows.
2. Accounts
One account covers submitting a project and applying for investor accreditation — a person who does both is legitimately both. You are responsible for what happens under your account, and for keeping your password to yourself. Tell us at once if you believe someone else has it.
3. Registration, badges and payment
Badge prices are set by the organisers and confirmed by our servers at checkout; the price shown on a page is indicative until then. Payment is taken by Paystack, who handle card details — we never see them. Each badge is issued to a named attendee. Transfers can be arranged through the registration team up to the start of the event. Cancellations are handled case by case: write with your reference as early as you can.
4. Accreditation and Marketplace access
Accreditation is decided by the AFFF panel, not granted automatically, and Marketplace participation is curated against business and project readiness. Applying does not entitle you to either. Registration is access to the market — it is not a guarantee of financing, of a Deal Room meeting, of Deal Table selection, or of any transaction completing.
5. Confidentiality
Accreditation unlocks budgets, capital stacks and project documents that producers have shared in confidence. You may use them to evaluate a possible investment and for nothing else. Do not copy, publish or pass them on. This obligation outlives your account.
6. What you submit
You keep ownership of everything you upload. You give us permission to store it, show it to the reviewers and accredited members the platform is designed to show it to, and use it to operate the service. You confirm you have the rights to share it in the first place.
7. Acceptable use
Do not misrepresent who you are or what you are bringing to the market, approach members outside the platform’s own messaging, scrape the marketplace, or attempt to reach data that is not yours. We may suspend an account that does.
8. Availability and liability
We work to keep the platform available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including for death, personal injury or fraud. Subject to that, our liability in connection with the platform is limited to the fees you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
9. Changes, and the law that applies
We may change these terms; material changes will be notified to registered users. These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Lagos State have jurisdiction.
